There are 8 state schools running green fee campaigns on their campus and working on the overall statewide network.

  • University of Florida
    • First school to pass a green fee referendum on a Florida campus, with 78% of the vote.  The campaign did a follow up survey, and the results matched the referendum outcome.  Students made a presentation before their Board of Trustees  which showed interest in the fee.
  • University of Central Florida
    • Passed green fee referendum in the spring of 2008 with 67% of the student vote.  The UCF campaign proposed a 75 cent which would raise almost a million dollars for sustainability on campus. 
  • Florida State University
    • In the spring of 2008 the FSU campaign passed a referendum with 74% of the student vote.  Students are currently working with their sustainability committee and student government representatives for increased support of campus
  • New College of Florida
    • Highest passed referendum vote in the state, with 85% support.  The campaign at NCF has met with their Board of Trustees and received support for the campaign.
  • University of South Florida
    • Students passed the green fee referendum in Spring 2009 SG election by 58% of the vote.  USF plans on working with their administration to gather more support on campus.
  • Florida Atlantic University
    • Recent 2009 SG election showed student support for the green fee with 53% of the vote.  Student leaders are using the results as a springboard to keep working on gaining support for their green fee program on campus.
  • University of West Florida
    • Is working with the administration to do a feasibility study of the Green Fee. 

  • Florida International University
    • Kicked off their campus campaign during their Earth Week celebration in April 2009. Currently surveying students on their interest in the Fee.

The remaining 3 schools do not have active programs on campus, get in touch with organizers to start one.  The time is right to get involved in the Florida green fee campaign!

  • Florida Gulf Coast University

  • Florida A&M University
    • Currently planning to initiate a campaign Fall 2009.
